CAP security officials arrested for attempted murder in Norwood

NORWOOD – The two will be back in court in November.

 


Two CAP security guards facing attempted murder charges were granted bail in the Johannesburg Magistrates’ Court on 14 October .

The two guards were arrested on 11 October after they allegedly shot at occupants of a vehicle who they suspected were involved in criminal activities in the area.

According to the police, this was not the case as apparently the occupants of the vehicle had not been involved in criminal activities.

The two had appeared in court on 14 October to apply for bail but their case was postponed to 15 October and they were granted bail.

Norwood Police Station’s spokesperson Erick Masotsha said, “I can confirm that the two suspects were arrested and have appeared in the Johannesburg Magistrates’ Court and were granted bail. The two security officers face charges of attempted murder.”

He added that an investigation was still underway and the two suspects were expected back in court on 15 November.
