Time to face men’s grooming and health issues this Movember

JOBURG –  In support of Movember, we've decided to curate a style guide to rocking your moustache and tips to grow your best Mo.

Calling on all men! It’s time to face men’s grooming and health issues head on this Movember. Each year, Movember South Africa seeks to change the face of men’s health by encouraging men (and women) to grow their moustaches in support of Movember.

Taking place throughout November, the initiative undertakes fundraising for research in male specific diseases and educates the public about men’s health issues, such as prostate and testicular cancer, mental health and physical inactivity. In support of Movember, we’ve decided to curate a style guide to rocking your moustache and tips to grow your best Mo!

First, it’s important to remember the rules – begin November with a clean-shaven face, grow and groom a moustache throughout the whole month, do not don a beard or fake moustache, conduct yourself like a true gentleman and use the power of the moustache to create conversation around men’s health issues.

To grow a moustache, you need to at least grow a beard for two to three weeks, shave off all the hair around your upper lip, experiment with moustache styles. Maintain your moustache as growing it requires constant brushing out, cleaning and getting a quality facial hair wash.

Experimenting with many moustache styles also gives you carte blanche to switch your outfit from the rugged and rough around the edges look towards a clean and well-kept look and vice versa, whatever works for you.

When it comes to matching your moustache with your outfit, the universal rule is to just throw on a grey T-shirt, a light denim short or jacket and you have a winning number, however, you can also try donning some colour to match the summer vibes.
