MaWhoo’s music to cause ripple effect

JOBURG – New kid on the block, MaWhoo sets out to create a ripple effect in the music industry.

A new kid on the block, MaWhoo has a unique sound that differentiates her from what is coming out currently. Her music speaks on behalf of other women who cannot fully express their wants and needs as seen in her collaboration, Umshado, with dance music heavy hitter, Heavy K.

“The single is for all women – everyone actually, because you might be in love with someone but in the end there needs to be a future between the both of you,” MaWhoo said.

She said the reaction to her debut single has been heartwarming and overwhelming as she recorded the single from a place of vulnerability and sincerity. Thought-provoking and honest, her music is set to cause a ripple effect in the country upon its release.

“This is something I created out of love and I think the reason that people have loved it so much is due to the message and its essence.”

The sassy and beautiful artist started out as model and would perform during showcases. Her likeable persona makes her the right candidate for the industry right now. She said her strong cultural background is what keeps her feet on the ground and will keep reminding her of the importance of humility and fighting peacefully to better her life.

“I used to sing in the church choir, music is something I grew up loving. I’m always writing and creating music – that’s how much I love music,” said MaWhoo.

Although she is fairly unknown she has had the pleasure of working with the likes of Heavy K and DJ Maphorisa in her pursuit to be named alongside some of the country’s most prominent names. The versatile vocalist doesn’t only focus her energies on one genre, however, she said dance music was a fitting feat for her talents because it’s the biggest genre in the country and presented opportunities for her to use her vocal talents to their fullest potential.

“It’s been amazing although the industry is tough. I haven’t given up because this is something I’ve always wanted and I don’t want to waste my talents.”
