Two pedestrians killed near Braamfontein

ER24 paramedics arrived on the scene late in the evening of 2 October to find the bodies of two men lying on the road.

The two had been struck by a light motor vehicle on the M1 Highway heading towards Smit Street offramp in Braamfontein and were declared dead at the scene.

Spokesperson for ER24 Russel Meiring said they found the two bodies lying in one lane of the highway. The light motor vehicle was parked a short distance away.

“Medics assessed the two men, believed to be in their 20s, and found that they had both sustained numerous injuries and showed no signs of life. Unfortunately, nothing could be done for them and they were declared dead.”

The driver of the light motor vehicle did not sustain injuries> Local authorities were on the scene for further investigations.
