Security guards sought by police for murder in Johannesburg

JOHANNESBURG – The deceased was stabbed several times in the upper body.


Two security guards have been arrested by the police and one is still on the run following a murder incident that happened in the Johannesburg CBD.

According to Captain Xoli Mbele, the spokesperson for the Johannesburg Central Police Station, they arrested the two security guards on 11 September.

They allegedly assaulted a 25-year-old male with sticks on the corner of Bree and Troye streets on 31 August.

“One of the security guards, who is still at large, stabbed a victim several times in the upper body,” said Mbele.

“The victim was declared dead by the paramedics on the corner of Jeppe and Polly streets. The motive for the murder is still unknown.”

The investigation is under way and the two suspects will appear soon in the Johannesburg Magistrate’s Court while the police still search for the third suspect.
