Norwood Police Station’s Sector 4 Crime Forum to hold elections

NORWOOD – Residents will also elect additional members as well as a public relations officer to help new executives.

Johannesburg north-eastern suburbs’ residents are invited to elect executives to manage the new Sector 4 Crime Forum on 25 September.

According to the Community Police Relations Coordinator from the Gauteng Department of Community safety, Thabo Thipe, these are the first-ever Sector 4 Forum elections in the area. It will take place at Norwood Police Station in the evening.

Thipe said a chairperson, deputy chairperson, secretary, and deputy secretary are expected to be elected. There will also be a vote for additional members to assist the new executive as well as a public relations officer. The number of additional members will be determined by the community, considering their needs.

“Currently we have sectors, three and one already elected their executives and we’re only left with Sector 4 and 2 to conduct their elections,” said Thipe.

“We urge residents in the suburbs that fall within this sector to avail themselves and help fight crime in their area. We want eligible voters, those are the people who reside in this sector so that they can participate and have their say in these processes.”

Nomination forms are available at Norwood Police Station. Those who wish to be nominated or who want to nominate someone else are encouraged to visit the station.
