JEPPESTOWN – Hostels residents will be addressed by Mangosuthu Buthelezi regarding recent attacks on foreign nationals and their businesses in the area.


Scores of people have converged in a local park in Jeppestown where IFP former president and member of parliament Mangosuthu Buthelezi is expected to address hostels residents regarding recent attacks on foreign nationals and their businesses in the area.

Chaos has erupted in Jeppestown Park as scores of residents walked out while former president of IFP Prince Mangosuthu Buthelezi addressed them.

Residents were unhappy with Buthelezi’s plea for calm. Residents said the government must bring a lasting solution that will ensure that everyone in the country is legitimate. They are calling for all undocumented foreign nationals to return to their countries.

Jeppestown and Malvern were the most affected areas after violence erupted on Sunday 1 September 2019.

The founding president of IFP and long-serving member of parliament Mangosuthu Buthelezi has arrived in Jeppestown to engage hostel residents following the eruption of violence against foreign nationals.
