Dr Phumzile Mlambo-Ngcuka to be honoured at IGC Experience

JOBURG – Mlambo-Ngcuka to be honoured for her devotion to issues of human rights, equality and social justice in Africa and beyond.

In Good Company announced United Nations Under-Secretary-General and executive director of UN Women, Dr Phumzile Mlambo-Ngcuka as the female powerhouse to receive the honorary Award at this year’s event – powered by Steyn City.

Themed Building the Africa of Tomorrow, In Good Company Experience is a platform created to afford women in business and corporate an opportunity to participate in the creation of a
gender-balanced continent; economically and socially. It also celebrates and recognises women who have contributed towards the country and Africa’s betterment.

“We hold Dr Mlambo-Ngcuka in high regard for the notable work she has done and continues to do. She has devoted her career to issues of human rights, equality and social justice on this continent and beyond. We are especially honoured that she is our honorary this year,” said Jabulile Gwala, founder and CEO of In Good Company.

The event, taking place on 26 September at Steyn City, is expected to afford a unique experience for patrons.

“There is a growing number of platforms and spaces where we can listen to our mentors’ and role-models’ journey to success but there are limited ways of connecting with them in a more meaningful way. Women struggle with networking, not socialising, networking with a clear business purpose in mind. This is why we decided this year that we will aid in connecting guests with phenomenal women and men with similar interests as them by partnering with Steyn City and 7% Tribe,” said Gwala.

The Business Festival for Women will have talks, master classes, panel discussions, business speed dating and networking, a gin bar; IGC Network area; food, fashion and beauty market; as well as live performances – all curated by women.
