Picasso learners take over King David Primary

SANDTON – Learners from three King David Primary school's joined forces to host its first art fair.

King David Primary schools in Sandton, Linksfield and Victory Park hosted an art exhibition on 4 September at the Sandton campus.

The exhibition showcased an artistic and imaginative collaboration between learners in grades 4 to 7 across all three campuses.

Learners were enthusiastic to show their parents their work so they could marvel in their contributions. An array of mediums and techniques were on display – manikins, pastel and charcoal drawings, mad-hatters and clay sculptures.

The exhibition was a long-time vision of Vivienne Weiner, the Sandton arts teacher. “It just allows the kids to run free with their imagination,” she smiled.

According to principal Lynne van Dellen, art is a very important vocation as many of the learners are going to go into the many spheres of art in the future. “They find their passions at schools,” Dellen said.
