Parktown girls encouraged to build one another up this Women’s Month

PARKVIEW – Parktown girls history department hosted an inspirational Women's Month assembly featuring guest speaker LeAnne Dlamini.

The history department at Parktown High School for Girls hosted a Women’s Month assembly on 2 August featuring guest speaker LeAnne Dlamini.

Dlamini is the founder of the company Life Designed by Her, #EndGirlHate and #Women4Women. She spoke to the learners about the importance of self-belief and sisterhood and treated the school to a song.

Dlamini emphasised the fact that learners should use social media to impact rather than impress, lift others up allowing all to rise, celebrate the achievements of others and choose collaboration over competition.

She also reminded learners that they became the average of the five girls closest to them and that ‘mean girls’ go far in high school but nice girls go far in life.

Marketing and communications manager at Parktown Girls Kerry Liss said Dlamini’s message was inspiring and a wonderful way to start Women’s Month.

Dlamini’s foundation End Girl Hate sells merchandise to sponsor the movement.
