Awards raise hope for year-end results

HIGHLANDS NORTH – The school's governing body chairperson believes that this is a sign that the school will perform well at the end of the year.

It was all excitement at Eden College when top-performing matrics in the Johannesburg East education district were awarded recently.

The learners received certificates based on their excellent June examinations results in various subjects at the well-attended event on 14 August.

Highlands North Boys’ High School was also represented on the night as 10 of their matrics received certificates issued by the district director Shirley Molobi.

The school’s governing body chairperson, Chris Bosielo explained that this was a sign that their school will perform well at the end of the year,

“This should show you that we will do much better in this year’s matric exams.

“Academically, for Highlands North Boys’ High School, it means we have promising results and our future is bright. We are very proud of the 10 top learners and hope that they will make us even more proud of their final matric results.”

According to Bosielo, the top 10 learns have received an invitation for a lunch with a resident who wants to congratulate them personally, “I had a chat on social media with Michael Faid who wants to take them out for a pizza and have a conversation with them.”

He added that although it is not yet clear what the conversation will be about, the school hoped that something positive will come out of it.
