The bail application for the three suspects accused of kidnapping and hijacking missing Parkview resident Wayne Smith has been postponed once again, they will next appear at the Johannesburg Magistrates’ Court on 12 August.

Three suspects accused of kidnapping and hijacking of Parkview resident Wayne Smith will make their second appearance at the Johannesburg Magistrates’ Court today, 6 August, for their bail application.
The state asked for a postponement from the magistrate on 30 July saying they only received the docket a day before the court date. The magistrate granted the request.
During the first bail application, family, friends and residents associations gathered outside the court to protest against suspects being granted bail, they have once again gathered to silently protest and say ‘no bail’ for Wayne Smith who has been missing for two months now.

Smith was last seen on 12 June in Rosebank in his silver Renault Clio. Parkview Police Station Captain Tintswalo Sibeko confirmed that three suspects had been arrested, however, further information could not be shared due to the sensitivity of the case.
