Foreign nationals embark on a peaceful protest

JOHANNESBURG – Foreign nationals gather outside the Johannesburg Magistrate Court to defend themselves.

Foreign nationals are still gathering up at the Johannesburg Magistrates Court. The Metro police are on standby.

Following the recent attacks on the police allegedly by foreign nationals last week in the Johannesburg CBD, immigrants gathered at the Johannesburg Magistrates’ Court for a peaceful protest.

Migus Tamesgan, who is a foreign national and is participating in the protest said, “We respect the South African law, we want to work with the police and fix our image.”

Tamesgan also spoke about the alleged counterfeit goods that were recovered by the police on 1 August. “We have many different businesses here and it does not mean that all of us work with counterfeit goods. Most of us just want peace.”

The protest is set to last for most of the day with different groups joining in song outside the court.
