Metro FM’s breakfast show has finally bagged a new host as Mo Flava officially took over the reins of the breakfast slot today, 5 August. Last week, the station announced that it was spicing up its line-up with two new shows; Morning Flava and The King’s Suite.

Mo Flava’s Morning Flava team features Pearl Shongwe on news, Owen Hannie leading the sports segment and Moshe Ndiki who is set to make a cameo on the show every Friday.

Mo Flava’s move follows his tenure as the afternoon drive time host for #The Drive and is an addition to the radio jock’s lengthy and fruitful career on the air.

“I’m so excited, it’s a new journey. It is a deep honour for me, I will forever be grateful for this opportunity and I promise to serve because all I want to do is serve and make mornings special,” Mo Flava said.

In addition to Mo Flava’s breakfast slot move, Metro FM revealed the return of Sphe and Naves who will take listeners home in the new afternoon drive show, The Kings Suite. The duo will be joined by Relebogile Mabotja on news and Angie Khumalo who will take on sports.

“We are convinced that we’ve found the perfect balance of on-air talent to carry on with the strategy of the station and ensure that we deliver to our commitment, of keeping our listeners informed and entertained, plus servicing the needs of our commercial spenders. Our intention is to carry on delivering top quality content, the coolest way we know how and these newly introduced shows are a part of the station’s strategy to refresh its lineup through repositioning and strengthening its talent pool to ensure it still remains number one in the game,” said Metro FM station manager, Sibongile Mtyali.
