Suspected drug dealers arrested in Johannesburg

JOHANNESBURG – Dagga in glass containers, cakes and stock sweets mixed with dagga were all confiscated during the arrest.


A 49-year-old alleged drug dealer was recently arrested by the police officers following a tip-off.

Johannesburg Central Police Station spokesperson, Captain Xoli Mbele, said, “Police were busy with their routine crime prevention duties when they received a tip-off from a community member about suspects selling dagga inside a shop.

“A swift response by the police led to the arrest of a suspect and confiscation of dagga in glass containers, cakes and stock sweets mixed with dagga. Each stock sweet sells at R 130 and dagga cakes R140.”

The suspects have since appeared in the Johannesburg Magistrates’ Court facing charges of drug dealing.
