Jeremy Loops Joburg tour to make winter a little more bearable for the homeless

JOBURG – Singer spearheads donation campaign alongside tour to make life a little more bearable for the homeless.

Modern folk singer/songwriter, Jeremy Loops, has spearheaded a campaign geared towards making the cold season more bearable for the less fortunate.  Taking to Instagram, the musician urged his fans and the South African community to lend a helping hand to the homeless.

Jeremy Loops announced that he will use his tour around the country to gather donations for the homeless and urged all those who will be attending to donate old clothes, shoes, food and basic necessities that would add a little bit of warmth to the less fortunate.

“We’re going to be collecting them at all the different venues. There’ll be a drop zone when you arrive and straight afterwards we’ll be taking all these things to the homeless shelters in every city we’ll perform in,” he said.

The musician is no stranger to philanthropy and lending a helping hand as he also founded Greenpop, a social enterprise that pushes environmentalism and eco-friendliness. Jeremy Loops’ winter campaign coincides with his Golden Waves Tour. The tour does not only celebrate his singles Gold and Waves receiving gold certification in South Africa but also an extension of his charitable efforts.

“We’ve done this before on a number of occasions but we haven’t done it across an entire tour. We’ve done it for individual shows and I just think the Jeremy Loops community has always shown a level of commitment to these sorts of ideas, social bridging and caring about stuff,” Jeremy Loops said.

The Golden Waves Tour Joburg-leg is set to take place at the Goodluck Bar on 18 July.
