DJ Fresh and Metro FM part ways

JOBURG – DJ Fresh set to start a brand new show and chapter on 1 August.

DJ Fresh’s impasse with the SABC has come to an end following a statement from the SABC relaying the termination of the radio personality’s contract with immediate effect.

In the statement, the broadcaster said the termination follows unsuccessful engagements between SABC radio management and Fresh for his usage of offensive language on air resulting in the SABC being found guilty and sanctioned by the Broadcasting Complaints Commission of South Africa (BCCSA).

The SABC alleged that DJ Fresh was afforded the opportunity to remedy the situation to no avail, however, in a statement released on 9 July, DJ Fresh said he offered to apologize unreservedly two weeks ago.

“To those I offended with the use of the word, I apologise unreservedly, and will do better next time,” DJ Fresh said.
