Their personas are usually laced with some mystique while creating an undying yearning and fascination from their fans. Lira’s performance went beyond expectations as she gave a sizzling rendition which featured a selection of songs from her discography.

Being a coach and mentor over the last three seasons of South Africa’s version of the The Voice, Lira brought out some of her favourites from the competition, Itusings, Sbu, and Aura.

With a career that spans 15 years, Lira gave a full band experience churning out classics such as Feel Good, Ixesha, and Phakade while also previewing new material from her American album – all rounded up by chats with the audience to give an intimate sense of what inspired the songs.

The concert was part of the Bassline Live Series, which has grown in popularity over the years. The series has hosted the likes of Oliver Mtukudzi, The Soil, Tsepo Tshola and most recently Simphiwe Dana who held her Annual Congregation.
