Avon Justine empowers budding entrepreneurs with new set of wheels

JOBURG -– Avon Justine empowers budding entrepreneurs with a brand new set of wheels to do their business much better.

Four women and two men who are budding entrepreneurs achieved outstanding sales of Avon Justine products and were rewarded with a set of brand new wheels each for their loyalty and hard work.

The women and men from Gauteng, KwaZulu-Natal, the Western Cape, Namibia and Zimbabwe sell the company’s beauty products and were rewarded at a ceremony held at the company’s head office.

Entrepreneurs from areas such as Alex, Lombardy East, Orange Grove, Yeoville, Berea, Hillbrow and Joburg central were also in the running but did not make it in the award stakes.

Mafahle Mareletse, group vice president of the company’s Turkey, Middle East and Africa entities and managing director of Avon Justine South Africa, commended the six winners, saying they had achieved the most outstanding sales results.

Speaking at the ceremony, Mareletse said the handover of the set of wheels to the six recipients reaffirmed the company’s commitment to championing the empowerment of women.

“We are here to witness a milestone, one which we shall continue into the unforeseeable future as it not only bolsters our earnings but also ensures there are people out there that are enabled to put food on their tables,” Mareletse said as he handed each one of them keys to their new cars.

He added that the direct selling model gave expression to their drive to foster women empowerment and financial independence. “Women are the primary drivers of our industry and we believe that they should be given an opportunity to reap the benefits of the growth of the beauty and cosmetics industry, and not merely confined to consumers.”

According to the Direct Selling Association’s latest report, the industry consists of 79 per cent women and in the past financial year, they were part of the 1.3 million sales representatives in the industry who earned well over R4 billion.
