JOBURG – Sho Madjozi continues to rake up awards as she walks away with the Best New International Act at this year’s BET Awards.

Sho Madjozi continues to rake up the wins as she walked away with the Best New International Act at this year’s BET Awards. In a historic win for South African female artists, the Huku hit maker beat the likes of Teniola Apata from Nigeria, Headie One and Octavian from the UK, and France’s Jokair and Nesly in the fan-voted category.

Best known for her Xitsonga lyrics and vibrant fashion, this was Sho Madjozi’s first BET Award nomination and win.

“My story is testament that you can come from any village, in any forgotten part of the world, and still be a superstar. For girls that come from where I am from, which is Limpopo, I just want to say that you don’t need to change who you are, you can still be big,” Sho Madjozi said.
