A crash occurred in the early hours of Monday morning (24 June) on the M1 North, Glenhove off-ramp in Parktown leaving multiple people injured and one person dead.
Spokesperson for the Metro police Chief Superintendent Wayne Minnaar said, “A taxi overturned leaving 15 people injured. Passengers have been sent to various hospitals, one female passenger has died.”
The taxi driver has been charged with reckless and negligent driving and culpable homicide.
Minnaar added the cause of the accident is still under investigation. The M1 North, Glenhove off-ramp was closed off for authorities to investigate the matter but the road has been reopened.
