Torah Academy awards the sporting prowess of its learners

ORCHARDS – Torah Academy Primary School honours some of the top sporting learners.

Torah Academy Primary School has honoured four of its outstanding learners for their sporting prowess at their annual sports day.

The school rewarded the boys and girls who excelled on the day: Nissan Steiner (boys’ senior victor ludorum), Yair Gerber (boys’ junior victor ludorum), Mushka Feinblum (girls’ senior victrix ludorum) and Batsheva Finkelstein (girls’ junior victrix ludorum).

Instead of the usual two teams, Torah and Mitzvah, this time there were six teams on the boys’ side and six on the girls’ – the teams were Chesed, Gevurah, Tiferet, Netzach, Hod and Yesod (six mystical attributes).

The school’s sporting activities focuses more on fun than competitiveness and some of the more technical events were replaced by fun races such as egg and spoon.

School marketer Sue Belling said, “These changes lent the opportunity for more participation by each child. Grade 6 students led teams to encourage the younger ones in leadership.”
