A robbery of a private security company van near a mosque on Nursery Road, Newtown, Johannesburg was caught on dashcam footage on 15 June.
Police spokesperson Colonel Lungelo Dlamini said, “The private security company vehicle was travelling near a mosque in Newtown. The van was transporting cash to the bank and the drivers were attacked by three armed suspects travelling in a black Mercedes-Benz. The suspects fired shots, they took the money and fled the scene.”
Dlamini added that no one had been arrested and the matter was still under investigation. A case of armed robbery had been opened.
