Laylizzy joins star-studded #CastleLiteUnlocks line-up

JOBURG – Acclaimed wordsmith, Laylizzy is set to perform on day one of the annual event for the first time in South Africa.

The 2019 edition of Castle Lite Unlocks experience has evolved into a two-day experience encompassing everything hip-hop in one place. Taking place on 17 and 18 June, this year’s extra cold Unlocks experience is expected to be one for the books. Acclaimed wordsmith, Laylizzy is set to perform on day one of the annual event for the first time in South Africa.

Laylizzy will be performing at the Castle Lite Unlocks experience for the third time. He made his debut in Mozambique in 2017, taking to the stage alongside US rapper, Future and South African megastar, Cassper Nyovest. His second Unlocks performance was also in Mozambique this past weekend when Castle Lite brought the Castle Lite Unlocks tour to our stunning shores accompanied by rap superstar, Nasty C.

“It feels really great to be chosen as one of the acts to perform at the SA concert this year. The mission is however still unfulfilled, I’m still striving to put Mozambique on the map and Africa on the world stage. I take that very seriously and this is an important stepping stone,” Laylizzy said.

Laylizzy joins a pantheon of African hip-hop’s greatest performers and enthusiasts in what has become a fully evolved and immersive cultural experience. Day 1 is dedicated to hip-hop as a cultural movement and will feature street culture, master classes, unforgettable performances, inspiring Cold Table Convos and street fashion where hip-hop enthusiasts will congregate to share their love for all aspects of the culture. Renowned hip-hop guru, Sway Calloway will also be part of Day one, where he will host the #SwayColdCyphers. This unmissable experience will culminate in a headline performance by US rap star, Meek Mill on 17 June.

Day two will be all about the music, as South African trailblazers Nasty C, Rouge & Riky Rick share the stage with Post Malone for a sub-zero experience. For those who are yet to witness Laylizzy’s live performance sets, expect nothing but fresh energy, dope bars and an overall extra cold experience.

“I’m looking forward to touching the stage and capturing more ears and souls towards my music,” said Laylizzy.
