South African tennis player, Kevin Anderson, to play in the 2019 pre-Wimbledon Fever-Tree Championships

JOBURG – Traditionally featuring many of the world’s top tennis players, the 2019’s line-up includes reigning champion Marin Čilić, top UK players Kyle Edmund and Andy Murray, and South African titleholder, Kevin Anderson.

In 2018, premium mixer brand, Fever-Tree, launched a three-year partnership with the Lawn Tennis Association (LTA) to become the official title sponsor of the prestigious pre-Wimbledon grass tennis tournament held at The Queen’s Club, London. Now in its second year of sponsorship, this year’s Fever-Tree Championships take place from Monday, 17 June to Sunday, 23 June.

Traditionally featuring many of the world’s top tennis players, 2019’s line-up includes reigning champion Marin Čilić, top UK players Kyle Edmund and Andy Murray, and South African titleholder, Kevin Anderson.

As of 13 May 2019, Anderson has been ranked as world number 8 in men’s singles by the Association of Tennis Professionals. In the 2018 Wimbledon semifinals, Anderson defeated American player, John Isner in the second-longest match in the history of major tournaments – the match lasted six hours and thirty-six minutes. Naturally, South African tennis lovers will hope to see the same enthusiasm on the courts this June.

During the seven-day challenge, Fever- Tree will be sharing the fun and excitement of the championships on their social media channels with entertaining behind the scenes footage, exclusive insights from players, the players very own ‘Fastest Serve’ creations, and live action updates. And as in years past the championships will also be broadcast throughout by BBC television, radio and online. The Queen’s Club Championships has always showcased the very best of international tennis and this year the Fever-Tree Championships will be no exception.
