Police arrest suspects for being in possession of illegal firearm

JOHANNESBURG – Two suspects arrested for being in possession of illegal firearm.


Police have arrested two men for possession of an unlicensed firearm and pointing of a firearm.

Metro police Integrated Intelligent Operation Centre (IOC) Reaction Unit officers received a complaint from the IOC centre of two men pointing a firearm at the corner of Twist and Wolmarans streets.

“On arrival, officers found the two males. They were searched and one of them was in possession of a firearm with the serial numbers filed off, the other suspect was in possession of the firearm’s magazine,” said Metro police chief David Tembe.

“The suspects were arrested and charged for being in possession of the unlicensed firearm and pointing of a firearm.”
