Sjava scoops two big ones at the Samas

JOBURG – Sjava bags Album of the Year and Best Afro Pop Album Awards at the Samas.

The 25th anniversary of the South African Music Awards (Samas) saw Sjava bag two massive awards of the night.

Accompanied by his management, Ambitiouz Entertainment, his producer Ruff and stable mates, Sjava customarily came out on top, being among the prime winners of the night, taking home Best Afro-pop Album and Album of the Year awards – adding to the multiple awards he already has in his name.

These are the first two awards he has bagged for his sophomore album, Umqhele, which features hit singles, Umama, Abafazi and Linda. The multiple award-winner was nominated in five categories and said being recognised for the hard work he has put into his craft motivated him to be more dedicated to serve the world with great music.

“I am happy, and the awards mean a lot to me. I am grateful to the judges who agreed that my work deserved these two awards. I am happy that I can deliver authentic music that people enjoy. Thank you to everyone who supports my music, I promise to always heal and entertain people through my music,” Sjava said.

Ambitiouz Entertainment CEO, Kgosi Mahumapelo said the stable was proud of Sjava.

“His album, Umqhele, has been doing amazingly well since its release. It makes me happy to see his hard work being appreciated in the music industry. We are proud of him and we look forward to partner with him in conquering even higher feats in the future.” he said.

Sjava was recently featured in the German musical platform, Colors Show, and continues to keep flying the South African flag high.
