Rosebank set to get a new park

ROSEBANK – Land on the corner of Keyes Avenue and Walters Street in Rosebank, is set to be made into a park which will also cater for events and exhibitions for the community.


Land on the corner of Keyes Avenue and Walters Street in Rosebank, which was formerly leased from the City of Johannesburg as a garden to the adjacent property, is set to be made into a park 

Ward 117 councillor Tim Truluck posted on his Facebook page on the update of the project, “It will now be taken back by the City and transformed into a park that can be used for small community orientated events and exhibitions.”

The cost of the project has been projected to cost R9.2 million. Work will begin in about two weeks and will take about three months to be completed. The park will also cater for events and exhibitions.

If you are interested in becoming a contractor during the project, these are the requirements your company would need to have:

  • A community liaison officer
  • General semi and skilled labourers
  • Workers for paving, grass, tree planting, lighting and fencing, landscaping and removal of existing vegetation.

Preference will be given to people and SMMEs who are based in Ward 117 and areas around Region B.
