Two caught dealing in drugs

PARKHURST – After information of two men dealing in illegal substances was forwarded to the Crime Prevention Unit, the members acted swiftly to arrest suspects.

 


Parkview Police Station members arrested two suspects for drug dealing on the corner of 6th Street and 4th Avenue, Parkhurst.

According to spokesperson, Captain Tintwsalo Sibeko, members of the Crime Prevention Unit received information that there were men selling illegal substances in Parkhurst.

“Crime Prevention Unit members followed up on the information received and they managed to apprehend two suspects [in possession of] plastic bags containing small, folded packets with substances suspected to be drugs,” said Sibeko.

She added that the suspects would appear in the Hillbrow Magistrates’ Court on 15 May to answer charges of dealing in drugs.

Station Commander, Colonel Theledi Gopane commended the members for the swift arrest.
