Two shot and killed in Berea, two others survive

BEREA – Police looks to the community for help.


Hillbrow police are searching for unknown suspected killers who allegedly shot and killed two foreign nationals in Berea, while two of their friends survived.

According to the spokesperson for Hillbrow Police Station, Sergeant Mduduzi Zondo, the incident occurred on 10 April on the corner of Prospect and Five streets. Police are following every possible lead to apprehend the suspects and to determine their motive.

Zondo said that the suspects seemingly appeared from nowhere and opened fire. “It is still not clear what happened, but four Nigerian nationals were shot.

“One died on his way to the hospital and another one upon his arrival at the local clinic.”

He added that the third victim was rushed to the hospital where he is still receiving treatment, while the fourth victim was treated at the scene and immediately discharged.

The police are investigating two cases of murder and two of attempted murder.

Anyone with information that can help lead to the suspects’ arrest is urged to contact the police.
