Eighteen-year olds at Roedean are excited #IMadeMyMark on 8 May

SHREEYA KHOOSAL: Being registered to vote is a way for my opinion to be acknowledged formally as a South African citizen. As president, I would address three things which are education, poverty and corruption as the three have an intertwined relationship. By educating the people we have a higher chance of eliminating poverty and corruption.

MIEKE NAUTA: I am looking forward to seeing the youth get involved and take SA forward during a totally confidential way of having a say (voting). As president, I would start with education to empower more people, bettering schools and giving enough learning resources.

KABELO SEBOKO: I look forward to playing a role in choosing the leaders who will implement change as well as all the written manifestos and promises they made. As a president, I would be the strictest person holding all cabinet members accountable. They will need to show me all the reports and invoices on the money spent and the outcome of projects.

ALEXEIA NICOLAOU: I can’t wait to take my first step into society as an adult and I am excited to contribute to the democracy of the country as a voter. As a president I would work towards making the economy financially stable in order to attract investment from other countries.

ISABELLA TANZER: From accompanying my parents to vote previously, I look forward to that happy atmosphere on voting day. The youth have an overwhelming majority so it is exciting for me to be part of that majority who will effect the change needed in the country when I vote. As president, I would fix the quality of life for the majority in the country.
