The Johannesburg Flying Squad together with the Metro police arrested six suspects for conspiracy to commit robbery and recovered two unlicensed firearms in Illovo on 25 April.
The suspects aged between 22 and 37 are due to appear in the Alexandra Magistrates’ Court for several charges including illegal possession of unlicensed firearms and conspiracy to commit robbery.
The suspects’ vehicle was spotted driving around in Illovo and police stopped the vehicle. Upon searching the men, they were found in possession of two unlicensed firearms. Police also established that their vehicle, a silver Audi, had been reported stolen. The suspects are still being profiled as they are suspected to be involved in other serious and violent crimes.
