GALLERY: David Beckham hosts the Haig Club House Party with Nataal at Artivist in Braamfontein

JOBURG – Haig Club House Party celebrates Joburg’s thriving arts, music and culture scene.

On Wednesday night, 24 April, David Beckham celebrated Johannesburg’s thriving arts, music and culture scene at the first South African Haig Club House Party, hosted at the effortlessly cool, cultural venue, Artivist in Braamfontein.

The House Party celebrated the launch of the second issue of Nataal magazine renowned for championing the contemporary arts in Africa and inspiring local artists, attendees explored and discovered four unique spaces, including a garden terrace featuring projected images from Nataal’s favourite photographers and filmmakers.

 “It’s great to be back in Johannesburg and it’s a pleasure to be here celebrating the city’s arts and cultural scene with Haig Club and Nataal. Tonight, we’ve seen some incredible talent who are making their own rules, and it’s exciting to see everyone enjoying our whisky,” Beckham said.

The House Party, inspired by Haig Club’s ‘Make Your Own Rules’ attitude, brought together the city’s most credible talent from the worlds of music, fashion, film and art including Tresor, Kim Jayde, David Tlale, Tino Chinyani, Chris Jaftha, Vuyo Mse and Refilwe Modiselle. They were also joined by the likes of Seth Shezi, Sarah Langa, Niquita Bento, Thuli Mola and Gemaèn Taylor.

Nairobi’s Blinky Bill joined local DJs and musicians including Manthe Ribane, K$, Muzi, DBN Gogo and Kenzhero who provided the soundtrack for the evening. Guests enjoyed signature Haig Clubman cocktails such as H.O.T (Haig Club Clubman, orange and tonic) and the Clubman New Old Fashioned alongside new creation, Artivist, created specifically to showcase the versatility of the whisky with citrus, orange marmalade, bitters and lemon.
