Gift of the Givers said that the organisation will provide humanitarian aid directly to communities and families who suffered severe material loss in the current storm in KwaZulu-Natal.
These include blankets, plastic sheeting, new clothing, shoes, food, baby milk, linen, dishes, stationery, diapers, sanitary pads, school clothing, and other relevant items. Those in need of assistance can call our toll free number 0800 786 911.
“In terms of logistical support in the current KwaZulu-Natal floods we can assist with helicopters [if any area is not accessible], ambulances, vehicles, and general rescue equipment,” said the Gift of the Givers in a released statement.
BAC Helicopter Services sponsors an aerial view for Gift of the Givers teams to assess storm damage in Durban and surroundings.
“Our team went to Bottlebrush Informal Settlement in Chatsworth thereafter. Eighty homes along both sides of the riverbank were completely washed away, 200 people need assistance” the NGO said in a statement.
