Student Sponsorship Programme nurtures Sacred Heart College’s Grade 8s

In an effort to nurture the younger generation, Grade 8s from various school in Johannesburg were recently mentored by a group of professionals from various sectors such as financial, legal, educational and investment fields at Sacred Heart College, Observatory.

The Student Sponsorship Programme (SSP)’s workshop saw involvement from the families of the new scholars, animated activities involving the rookie mentors and interesting observations from several sponsors.

Highlights from the event included the mentor training, which took place in the school hall and included quiet observation by educational counsellors and representatives of The Reatile Group and Raise the Children.

While waiting, the parents had a workshop from the scholar programme officers. The main activity for the youngsters was meeting their mentors for the first time to share fun activities together, before introducing their mentors to their families and all sharing a communal lunch.
