E! Africa commissions Celebrity Game Night to air late 2019

JOBURG – High-energy series will feature the best of African pop culture and celebrities.

E! Entertainment Television, NBCUniversal International Networks’ global, multi-platform brand dedicated to all things pop culture, announced the commission of Celebrity Game Night, for its latest local production in Africa.  The series, comprised of 10 one-hour episodes, will premiere later this year on E!

Celebrity Game Night is based on the Primetime Emmy Award-winning series Hollywood Game Night, hosted by Jane Lynch, and is distributed internationally by NBCUniversal international formats. In each episode, two teams of celebrity guests will face-off as they play hilarious and outrageous party games that test pop culture knowledge, acting skills and nerves of steel. Adding to the atmosphere, this local commission will feature a local host who will guide African celebrities through their evening and ensure the game night is filled with fun and frolics.

Raftery said the pending series demonstrates the brand’s continued commitment to creating impactful local content which reflects the market.

Executive produced for NBCUniversal International Networks, Celebrity Game Night is produced by Rapid Blue in Johannesburg. Celebrity Game Night will go into production in July 2019 and the series is set to premiere late 2019 on E! More details, including host and full line-up, will be announced in due course.
