JOBURG – Highlights and more from the VW VIVOnation festival.

Over two days, 6–7 April, The Container Yard in downtown Joburg housed an impressive stage for the VW VIVOnation Festival. The stage was among thousands of shipping containers, over 100 of which had to be repositioned to create the festival layout and experience.

Thousands of fans descended on the incredible festival of live music to witness electrifying performances, taste delicious food and soak in bespoke experiences despite the chilly weather.

This year’s edition had the hottest line-up of local talent, carefully curated to cater for house, hip-hop and urban music fans across multiple genres. AKA headlined both days, supported by the likes of Shane Eagle, Sho Madjozi, Busiswa, DJ Kent, Simmy, Rouge, Sjava, Mlindo the Vocalist and DJ Zan-D.

Fans also got to enjoy exhilarating rides around the Vivo Autocross track and sang their hearts out to win a road trip in the Vivo Lip Sync competition. A few firsts included a Beach Bar, lifestyle pop-ups and a fresh selection of food and drinks stalls, including a shisa nyama.
