VW VIVOnation officially sells out day one festival tickets

JOBURG – Thousands of fans secure their place for incredible festival experience.

With VW VIVOnation just a day away, Volkswagen South Africa announced that tickets for the first day, Saturday 6 April, have officially sold out! Thousands of fans have booked their place to be at this incredible festival of live music, with electrifying performances, delicious food and bespoke experiences, all made possible by the Volkswagen Polo Vivo.

Luckily, there are still limited tickets available for Sunday, 7 April and in a bid to ensure the safety of VW VIVOnation’s 8 000 patrons this weekend, Volkswagen South Africa is offering festivalgoers the opportunity to win one of two weekends away in a Polo Vivo for two, just for catching the Park-and-Ride instead of driving – the Park-and- Ride ticket costs just R20.

This year’s edition promises the hottest line-up of local talent, carefully curated to cater for house, hip-hop and urban music fans across multiple genres. The impressive stage will be set among thousands of shipping containers, over 100 of which had to be repositioned to create the festival layout and experience.

Hip-hop artist, AKA will headline both days, supported by the likes of Shane Eagle, Sho Madjozi, DJ Maphorisa, Busiswa, DJ Kent, Simmy, Rouge, Sjava, Mlindo the vocalist and DJ Zan-D – festivalgoers who arrive between  1 pm and 3 pm  stand a chance to win VIP upgrades, artist meet-and-greets and festival merchandise.

Fans will get to enjoy exhilarating rides around the Vivo Autocross track and sing their hearts out to win a road trip in the Vivo Lip Sync competition. A few firsts will include a beach bar, lifestyle pop-ups and a fresh selection of food and drinks stalls, including a shisa nyama.

A safe and convenient shuttle service leaves from Newtown Junction to and from The Container Yard, with shuttles operating every 30 minutes. The first shuttle from Newtown Junction is at 11am on both days. The last shuttle will operate for two hours after the end of the event. Look for the ‘pick-up’ and ‘drop-off’ signs. Park-and-Ride tickets as well as festival tickets are available from www.vwvivonation.co.za and are priced at R20 and R50 respectively.

For anyone who can’t make it to VW VIVOnation this weekend, the event will be live streamed via skyroomlive.
