“Support is the mother body of the station. We work behind the scenes to make sure things run smoothly,” said Oliphant.

“Absenteeism is my greatest challenge at the station. I try to resolve this by talking to members and taking disciplinary steps to root out this issue.”

She added that she enjoyed advising members and encouraging members to come to work and serve the community.

“Community members must bear with us as we are also moms, aunts, uncles and members of the community. We work hard to protect them and they must give us support as we do so.”

The spokesperson for the Parkview Police Station Captain Tintswalo Sibeko said, “Captain Oliphant is an assertive person who says it as it is. She works according to procedures and motivates newcomers to be disciplined.”
