One suspect was arrested by Metro police officers for allegedly assaulting a passenger in a minibus taxi at Twist and Smit streets in Hillbrow on 22 March.
The Metro police officers were conducting a smash-and-grab operation in that area when they spotted the suspect walking in between the cars. According to Metro police, the suspect then forced open the window of a minibus taxi assaulting the passenger and grabbed his phone.

The suspect then ran across the road but was swiftly apprehended by the officers. The victim positively identified the phone as his.
