Illegal substance trade tackled

ROSEBANK – Police and security visibility was the order of the day as they left no stone unturned during their raids of all the problem spots in the area.

 


Rosebank police in conjunction with Excellerate and 24/7 Security services conducted precinct raids on 13 March.

Rosebank police spokesperson, Sergeant Bongi Mdletshe said this was not the first time such raids had been conducted.

The police and security personnel visited the parks in the area to search for illegal substances. In Rose Park which is next to Rosebank Clinic, officers found dagga being traded illegally.

In EWJ Park, next to Rosebank Library, the team also found dagga and syringes, and one suspect was taken in for questioning. An abandoned property on Keyes Avenue was also visited.

The teams concluded by patrolling Sector 1 and 2 checking for any signs of illegal activities and ensuring residents’ safety.
