8 March: Mnquma @ P.O.P Art

Performed by Xolisile Bongwana, Mnquma is based on discussions held between Bongwana and David April who were keen to explore their cultural roots. The piece has subsequently evolved into Bongwana delving into his personal journey. Tickets are R 120 online. R 140 at the door.

9 March: Halaal Goods Market

The sixth edition of the epic Halaal Goods Market presents an opportunity to support the hottest local artisan businesses while you eat, shop and socialize to your heart’s content. The event serves halaal but is open to all experiences in food from 9 – 10 March at the Fox Junction Event Venue. Tickets are available on www.quicket.co.za for R20 per day.

9 March: Exhibition opening “It’s Irrelevant” by Craig Smith

Kalashnikovv gallery presents Craig Smith’s second solo exhibition with the gallery. The exhibition will feature an all new body of work consisting of paintings on canvas and drawings on paper.

10 March: The August House Open Studio Art Affair

The August House Open Studio Art Affair presents a highlight on the fringe Joburg art scene. The art hub will open its doors on 10 March to more than 50 artists exhibiting in their private studios for the day. You can even buy art directly from the artists.

10 March: Seussical the Musical Jr

Jill Girard and Keith Smith get this year’s Children’s Theatre underway with a bang, bringing children, parents and all those with a love of joy and laughter, together for a rollicking theatre experience with the fabulous Broadway show Seussical the Musical Jr. at The People’s Theatre on 10 March the musical runs through the school holidays, with the final performance on 28 April.
