WAVERLEY– St Mary's School's rowing club secured another victory at the latest rowing championships.


St Mary’s School’s rowing club secured another victory at the 2019 South African Schools’ Rowing Championships.

The champions of the school based in Waverley is seen as the schools’ event in the rowing calendar and been won by St Mary’s on 20 of the 26 occasions in which they have competed.

This year’s event saw the rowing club ending at the top of the medal table as they won both U14 and U16 age group trophies and took the glory in the premier 1st quad race by the smallest margin in the recorded history of 1/100th of a second.

The club would like to thank the South Africa Schools Rowing Union (Sasru) organising committee, all the officials and supporters for a supportive weekend.
