Tents and Torches event builds community at Pridwin Prep

MELROSE – The event formed part of the big brother programme.

Pridwin Preparatory School hosted a Tents and Torches evening recently where Grade 7 ‘big brothers’ and their families picnicked with the families of their Grade 0 ‘brothers’.

The community-building event forms part of the big brother programme where new Grade 0s are paired with Grade 7 big brothers who take care of them during the year. The brothers meet weekly through the year where they work on collaborative projects and build relationships to foster a sense of belonging.

The Grade 7s also practise their leadership skills through the way they manage this honour.

The Tents and Torches event was aimed at the leavers passing on the love they hold for the school as well as sage advice about the journey through Pridwin. Parents connected well while boys pitched tents and read books by torchlight.
