Mampintsha lays assault charge against Babes Wodumo

JOBURG – Mampintsha cites ‘self-defence’ in counter-charge against Babes Wodumo.

On Tuesday, 5 March, the South African Police Service announced that Mandla Maphumulo, popularly known as Mampintsha, turned himself into Westville Police Station had been arrested following a viral Instagram live video which shows him assaulting Babes Wodumo.

This also follows an assault charge laid against Maphumulo, however, in a bizarre turn of events, it has been reported that Mampintsha laid a counter-charge against Babes Wodumo.

Mampintsha’s lawyers said the muso was acting in self-defence and that he is the victim of abuse in their relationship.

Babes Wodumo’s family also held a media briefing on Tuesday, 5 March, addressing the singer’s abuse at the hands of Maphumulo. They told the media that she was rattled and currently receiving medical attention.
