Fifteen suspects were arrested for drunken driving in Parkview. According to Parkview Police Station spokesperson, Captain Tintswalo Sibeko, a drunk and driving joint operation between Parkview police and Johannesburg Metro Police Department was conducted on the corner of Lower Park Drive and Jan Smuts Avenue on 23 February.
“The operation was about targeting the drivers who operate vehicles under the influence of alcohol. The drivers were stopped during the operation and those found with the results which were above the legal limit of alcohol in human blood were arrested.”
She added that the operation then resulted in 15 suspects arrested for drunk and driving. All suspects were charged and released on bail. “The suspects were warned to appear in Hillbrow Magistrates’ Court. The investigation is ongoing,” said Captain Sibeko.
