DSJ welcomes renowned film director Sönke Wortmann to school

PARKTOWN – Sönke Wortmann shares insights and stories from his life with learners.


The Deutsche Internationale Schule Johannesburg welcomed renowned German film director Sönke Wortmann to their school recently.

Learners from grades 5 to 12 were able to watch his 2003 award-winning film Das Wunder von Bern (The Miracle of Bern) which was followed by a question-and- answer session.

Wortmann not only answered questions about the film but also shared many personal insights and stories from his life, which proved to be an immensely enriching experience for all those in attendance. The DSJ is grateful to the German Embassy for facilitating this opportunity.
