Parktown Girls cheer on Terence Parkin

PARKVIEW – Learners encourage Olympic medalist Terence Parkin on his long journey for a cause.

Learners at Parktown High School for Girls lined the streets as Terence Parkin began his 1 120km running, cycling, swimming and canoeing journey to spread awareness about water safety.

Terence Parkin hugs his daughters Leya and Shayla outside Parktown High School for Girls before he sets off on his journey in aid of the Princess Charlene of Monaco Foundation.

Parkin’s daughters Shayla (Grade 8) and Leya (Grade 10) hugged their father before he continued his 200km ride to Frankfort which served as the first leg of his journey on 4 February. All proceeds raised through the trip will be donated to the Princess Charlene of Monaco Foundation South Africa to drive awareness regarding water safety.
