Dineo Ranaka visits Soweto and donates 1 000 school shoes to learners in need

JOBURG – More SA celebs throw their weight behind getting 20 000 school shoes to children in need in 2019.

In October 2018, Clover Krush announced that the #KrushGoodness project had returned and the brand put out a call for South Africans to nominate schools whose children are most in need of school shoes. In December 2018, the 20 schools that received the most nominations were announced.

The journey to distributing school shoes to 20 000 children in need across South Africa has begun. The #KrushGoodness project saw Dineo Ranaka and the Krush Goodness Krew visiting Thembalihle Primary School in Soweto last week, where over 1000 learners received a brand new pair of Smart Steps school shoes as part of the project.

According to Stats SA, approximately 70% of learners walk to school every day, many of whom walk barefoot or with damaged shoes. The #KrushGoodness project will make a sustainable difference in the lives of 20 000 learners across South Africa, giving them the confidence to conquer the world one step at a time.

20 schools that received the most nominations by the public will be visited over the next few weeks by the Krush Goodness Krew, including Connie Ferguson, Zenande Mfenyane, Rami Chuene, Lalla Hirayama, Letshego Zulu, Thembi Seete, Ayanda Thabethe, Leanne Manas, Brent Lindeque, Shona Ferguson and Heather Hook.

“The response we received from South Africa upon announcing that the #KrushGoodness project was back for a second year was phenomenal. And to now have even more celebrities who represent goodness joining us as part of the #KrushGoodness Krew is something very special and will allow us to spread the goodness even further,” said Miantha Roux, Marketing Manager: Beverages at Clover.
