PICTURES: DJ Tira to take over the Beyond the Sound stage
JOBURG – DJ Tira takes us deeper into his music.
The second episode of Beyond the Sound, the 13-episode series, which takes a deeper look at South African musicians and their colourful journey to fame airs tonight, 17 January, on Channel O.
A co-production between Red Bull Music and Channel O, the show features in-depth interviews and engaging performances with various artists from different musical backgrounds and genres. Beyond the Sound debuted last year February, with engaging, insightful interviews with some of SA’s A-list artists such as Langa Mavuso, Youngsta CPT and Shekinah.
The second episode features ‘Makoya Bearings’ himself, DJ Tira. His performance includes his hit single No Rush, as well as the festive season, hit Laze Lavuka iDimoni Lami. Tira also takes time to explain what success means to him as well as his working relationship with his peers Oskido and Black Coffee.
The rest of the season will feature top SA artists such as deep house DJ Kat La Kat, new age kwaito duo Darkie Fiction, rappers Shane Eagle and Patrickxxlee and Jackie Queens.
